Technical Product Manager

Los Angeles, CA

Looking for a technical product manager to join our team and have ownership of ongoing products, features and data. You will partner with technical managers and engineering teams in building the product features, govern timelines, and run project teams to create new products and enhancement releases.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience in a related industry

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders and lead cross functional teams across geographies and business units

  • Expertise in Agile development practices

  • Ability to engage with Business users and understand their needs.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom.

  • Business analysis and functional expertise, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users, and measuring customer delight.

  • Experience delivering features on large scale software applications and backend systems, building platform and data solutions, defining services and applications

  • Working knowledge of multi-tiered technology platform stacks with an emphasis on SOA and API based architectures

  • Broad knowledge of distributed systems, infrastructure software, databases, interface driven solutions

  • Strong experience with development processes and agile methodologies

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across various design, development, and business teams to identify and drive innovative solutions that achieve business goals and align with long term product road maps.

  • Research unmet or undeserved customer needs, and synthesize these requirements into epics and user stories, collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, Program Management, and their respective teams to deliver high quality features and products to market.

  • Provide oversight and management throughout the Product Lifecycle, gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, define the product vision, and work closely with product development, software and engineering teams to meet market delivery targets. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

  • Build a strong relationship with customers to make sure a positive and healthy sustainable partnership

  • Manage the expectation of internal and external customer by effectively prioritizing resources, work and negotiating product/project needs

  • Drive the definition, creation, maintenance, and dissemination of the product strategy and road map, make it constantly visible to management and key stakeholders and drive projects through to completion

  • Work with the business to define business problems and requirements and work with technical teams to scope technical software projects

  • Actively partner with R&D teams to define requirements, prioritize backlog, resource availability, milestones, and dependencies between teams and products. Help make the right feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience or business relevance. Deliver product requirements document with prioritized features and corresponding justification

  • Act as the interface between the business and the software development teams. Understand the product and know the right questions and whom to ask.

  • Go to person for product's feature, design and domain details

  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities

  • Lead the team to ideate, do POC and implement change to bring innovation in the product, grooming new technologies and presenting them to management
